4th of July Fun With Elemental Styles

Hello everyone! Sorry it's been so long since my last post; I really have no excuses except it's a teensy bit difficult sharing a computer and not having a functioning laptop anymore. Other than that, I've just been a bit lazy and uninspired I guess.

Anyway, today I have a super sparklicious 4th of July manicure. It's from a new-to-me indie polish company called Elemental Styles. I really like the concept behind all of the polish names and colors. They are all based on elements from the periodic table. I had been wanting to get a red/white/blue polish but was having a hard time deciding which one to get. I saw a notice on the Elemental Styles blog that her take on patriotic polish was available and would arrive in time to wear it for the 4th. And poof! Just like that my decision was made for me. The polish is called 95 U.S.A-mericium. Americium is the 95th element and is a soft and silver-white in color (pretty appropriate) and is most commonly used in smoke detectors. And that my friends is your fun fact for the day.

95 U.S.A-mericium is described on the Etsy site as "a clear polish filled with fine red and blue glitter and ultrafine silver glitter! It's also got two sizes of matte white hex glitters." I decided to use a silver basecoat so the red, white and blue would really stand out and the one I chose was Goldie Lost. And here it is: one coat of Lost topped by 3 coats of 95 U.S.A-mericium:

I really love how this turned out. It's so sparkly and festive. 95 U.S.A-mericium was really easy to apply. There was so much glitter that I didn't have to fish for it at all and even the large white hex glitter pieces came out on their own without any coaxing. And because I've been making a ton of jewelry lately I decided to make a pair of earrings too.

I really love how these turned out also! Unfortunately I didn't receive the polish in enough time to make any to sell but I will definitely have them for next year!

You can buy the Elemental Styles polishes on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ElementalStyles?ref=seller_info. I definitely want to get more of her polishes in the future. And you can check out the Elemental Styles blog here: http://elementalstyles.blogspot.com/.

I hope everyone is having a great day. Have fun and stay safe!

'Til we meet again.
