Hi again! So, it's finally been getting cooler here and feel like Fall so I'm finally feeling like busting out the dark, vampy polish colors. I had been planning on using another China Glaze polish but when I came across Rodeo Fanatic I knew I had to use it.

Rodeo Fanatic is from the 2008 Rodeo Diva collection but looks to still be readily available online; I think I got mine at Sally's a few years back. This has been one of my untrieds for so long and I'm really glad I chose it. It's such a pretty color that has some greenish shift in some lights and serious sparkle outside.

Definitely check it out if you want a seriously gorgeous Fall color.

China Glaze Little Drummer Boy

Last week when it was actually cloudy/rainy and a bit chilly I decided to reach for a dark polish to go along with the weather. I decided on China Glaze Little Drummer Boy which is from the Winter/Holiday 2010 collection 'Tis The Season To Be Naughty And Nice. Even though this collection is from 4 years ago, and I bought it when it came out, it was still an untried for me.

Little Drummer Boy is a gorgeous blackened blue. In the bottle I could see some silver shimmer but that did not transfer to the nail at all. I didn't really mind though because I love a good, dark polish. And the best part about it is that it was a one coater! I almost did a second coat out of habit but I looked at my nails from all angles and just didn't need a second coat. Yay for one coaters!

I have been swatching all of my polishes onto swatch sticks and am realizing just how many untrieds I actually have... I need to get on polishing my nails more often so I can use them. And as I do I'll take pics and write a quick post. You can go on my untrieds journey with me.

A 4th Of July Mani

Hi all! I'm back! We're finally settled back in California after a very long, frustrating, and tiring move. I just wanted to write a quick post to say Happy 4th of July to my American friends and show you a mani that I did for the occasion.

I used China Glaze First Mate, OPI Alpine Snow, Zoya Sooki, Elemental Styles U.S.A-mericium and Vivid Lacquer Paint Me Patriotic along with some cardboard cut-out stars, striping tape and dotting tools to make this fun skittle mani.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hi! Here is my final St. Patrick's Day mani right under the wire. Better late than never right? Doing this mani reminded me why I don't do nail art; I suck at it and I don't have the patience for it. First off, here are the polishes I used:

And here is the finished look:

On the thumb I did a base of Alpine Snow topped with Fresh Frog Of Bel Air. On the index and pinky fingers I used a base of Starboard topped with Show Me The Money. The middle finger is a base of Alpine Snow taped off with Starboard and Apollo. And the ring finger is Mingle With Kringle. For some reason I decided to do the glitter toppers before the taped off Irish flag finger. When I was cutting the tape I mangled my thumb on one of my hands with the finger holes of the scissors. When I peeled off the tape for flag one of the pieces broke in the middle so I had to use tweezers to try and remove it and totally jacked up the polish in the process. Then on the other hand the polish seeped under the tape and messed up my straight line. It was an aggravating, frustrating mess! I'm surprised they look even half as good as they do. I have to say I absolutely love Mingle With Kringle which I got this weekend at Sally for $1.72 or something ridiculously cheap like it.

So yeah, not my prettiest mani but it'll do. Hope everyone is having a good day! We had a little potluck at work and now I'm sitting at home with my honey; we're too old to go out drinking and carrying on. And that's just how I like that.

Halloween Skittle Mani

Hello again! I finally have my second Halloween mani of the season for you guys; I actually wore it 2 weeks ago but was too preoccupied to write about it. So without further ado...here it is.

And here all of the polishes I used...

L-R: Wet 'n Wild Tangled In My Web, OPI A Roll In The Hague, Fing'rs Get Spotted, China Glaze Black Mesh Crackle, Sally Hansen Lick-O-Rich

I used the Fing'rs Get Spotted over A Roll In The Hague on my index finger but I put it on a bit too thick; you couldn't really see the spotted effect. I need more practice with it but from what I can see it is a pretty good alternative to the OPI Black Spotted which was fairly hard to come by. And this version came with 2 mini colored polishes in a set for $6 at Walmart. And if you like textured polishes and black polish I would highly recommend Sally Hansen Lick-O-Rich. It is a super inky black, it has great texture and best of all it was a one-coater.

Candy Corn Nails

Hiya! Today I have my first Halloween mani of the year. I absolutely love Halloween and have a few more manis planned for the rest of the month; we'll see if they actually pan out but for now here are my candy corn nails.

I'm kinda loving doing the accent nail thing these days...I like how it looks and I get to use more polishes that way. And here are the polishes...

L-R: China Glaze Spontaneous, Lush Lacquer Korny Candy, Zoya Pippa, OPI A Roll In The Hague, OPI Alpine Snow

For the candy corns I used a base of Alpine Snow, taped it off and added coat of Pippa. I taped it off one last time and added a coat of A Roll In The Hague. I've also seen it done using the sponge technique and I really like how it looks that way too. It would actually probably be a bit easier and quicker that way; maybe I'll try it that way next year. The other nails were a coat of Spontaneous topped off with a coat of Korny Candy; an awesome mix of yellow gold, orange and white glitters. Spontaneous is one of my all-time favorite purples; it is such a dusty but bright purple and I love how it sets off the colors in Korny Candy.

I'm kinda in love with my nails and can't stop looking at them. Hope you enjoyed them! If anyone has links to or pics of their own Halloween nails I would love to see them!

Fall-ing Leaves And Cozy Times

Hi all! I'm back with my last 2 Fall manicures. I'm busting out the Christmas stuff this weekend so this is the last of it for me. I hadn't done any stamping for awhile and had an idea for a manicure so decided to see if I could bring it to life. It ALMOST turned out the way I had imagined. The main problem was that I thought I had a different shaped leaf on my plates so it wasn't exactly what I had in mind. These are the polishes I used:

I started with a base of Jane so all of the other colors would really pop against it. For the most part they did with the exception of the two lightest colors; but they helped add some depth to it. I used Bundle Monster plates BM05 and BM221 for the leaves. I realized after I did it that I had stamped them so my pics would be upside-down...oh well. Here is the finished product: 

 After that manicure I realized I still had another Fall glitter from Lush Lacquer that I hadn't used yet.

I alternated some of the same colors I used for my leaf mani and did 2 accent nails with the glitter.

My pinky and middle fingers kinda look like poop (literally) but I really love how this turned out! Lush Lacquer makes the most amazing polishes; I used 2 coats here and it was pretty much full coverage. It applies like butter and there is definitely no fishing to get an amazing array of glitter. It dries pretty gritty and per usual with glitter on my nails, I could not get it to smooth out. My body chemistry must just react to glitters in such a way that it just makes them soak up the topcoat like nobody's business. And last but not least, I of course made a pair of earrings...

End Of Summer Neons

So I decided to send summer out with a bang (when it came to my nails at least). This will probably be my last super bright mani of the season. I for one am super glad that summer is over; I've never been a huge fan. I suppose it is in large part due to the fact that I'm so pale I'm practically translucent. I can't be out in the sun for more than 5 minutes without turning into a lobster and I only have two shades of skin...super white or super red. And I can't stand being hot (although where we live it's foggy a good portion of the summer which I kinda love). And I don't particularly love the beach although I've lived on the coast of California my whole life. As I said, just not my favorite season. But I do love the bright colors of the season and I'm really glad that neons have made their way back into the spotlight. I really love them as nail polish colors. So for this mani I used China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard, China Glaze Sun-Kissed and Pretty & Polished Valentino.

My camera could not quite capture the true colors of these; they are too bright. As with a similar mani I was inspired for the color placement by Carly of the Lacquered Lover blog. She commented on one of my Instagram pics that she thinks of it as the Carly so that is what it shall be named as far as I'm concerned.

I love the way this style of mani looks; and it's a great way to use more than one polish. And I am still completely obsessed with black and white glitters and need to get my hands on as many as I can. They look great over any color. And of course I had to make some earrings out of this combo (although they aren't quite earrings yet, I need to get some more posts). I decided to use most of my neon polishes and I absolutely love how they turned out!

31 Day (Or Something Like That) Nail Challenge - Day 5

Well, here we are on day 5 of the nail challenge and I'm getting to the end of what I have prepared. I'll probably have some random days here and there when I do my nails but it won't be every day. This day's challenge was blue and I chose China Glaze Frostbite.

It's a really difficult blue to capture in photos because it's so bright and saturated; but I think this pic does the best job of the ones I took. It's a beautiful, deep, bright royal blue with amazing shimmer and shine. Whenever I wear this polish I can't stop staring at my nails; it's kinda captivating. And I was feeling crafty this weekend and made a pair of earrings with it too:

So, there you have it; a polish challenge blue day. I would definitely recommend picking up this polish if you don't already have it. It's one of my faves. And as before, don't forget to check out the other blogs that are participating in the challenge.

Salt 'n Peppa's Here!

If you're a child of the 70s and 80s tell me you don't have that song in your head right about now; I know I do. My bestie and I played "Push It" over and over and over again; on our record player of course. Listening to it now I realize it's quite a racy little song and at the time I had no clue. But I digress... The Salt n Peppa I'm talking about today is by Lush Lacquer; a little company I found on Etsy that has some amazing polishes. My color placement was inspired by Carly from the Lacquered Lover blog. So without further ado, the nails:

I am absolutely loving this mani! These bright, saturated, not-quite-neon colors are my favorites this time of year.  I used China Glaze Spontaneous (one of my all time favorite purples), an old mini no-name Sephora polish and Lush Lacquer Salt n Peppa. Salt n Peppa is awesome! It is chock full of small  black and white glitter, larger square black and white glitter and black and white bar glitter all in a base of tiny holographic glitter. Inside it is so shiny from the holographic pieces that the black and white don't stand out quite as much but outside it's quite magical. And you definitely don't have to go fishing for glitter in this one; most of my fingers only have one coat! It dried a tad bumpy but nothing a coat or two of Poshe didn't remedy. I really hope to be able to afford some more polishes from these ladies soon (http://www.etsy.com/shop/lushlacquer?ref=shop_sugg). They have some really amazing looking polishes. I can't wait to try Salt n Peppa over everything! It will look amazing over so many different colors.
