Born Pretty Nail Foils

*Received for review*

Hi all! Today I have my first experience with nail foils to share with you. I had never tried them before so this was a totally new thing for me. They came as a really long sheet rolled up into a plastic container.

I applied them over a base of OPI Vant To Bite My Neck? and here are my results.

They looked really cool! I wasn't happy with the part of the foil I put on my index finger but I was playing around with different parts of the pattern. My only mistake was using nail foil adhesive. It never dried and my nails were sticky after I applied the foils; so sticky that my nails were full of cat hair within minutes and I had to remove the whole thing after about ten minutes because it wouldn't dry. I have read that you can apply them when your nail polish is still slightly tacky and that the foils will stick to that so that is what I will be trying next time because I love how they look! I was bummed that I couldn't keep them on. But I want to stress that it had NOTHING to do with the foils because they were awesome and easy to use. In fact, you can buy them here for only $1.99. And if you use code AILX31 you can save 10%!

Have you ever tried nail foils? What was your experience with them? Let me know!

Fusion of Color Swatches and Review

*Products received in exchange for my honest review*

Hi all! Again, it's been a while. I hope you are all doing well. Today I have a new to me brand called Fusion of Color to share with you. I was recently given the opportunity to try some products from their new Spring line. I chose 2 eyeshadows, a highlighter, a blush, a lip gloss and a matte lippy. Let's get to the swatches shall we?

Highlighter in Bare Skin, blush in Kissed By The Sun
Eyeshadows in Chablis and Starfish

Sassy lip gloss in Tease, matte lipstick in Edgy

These colors are absolutely gorgeous. The eyeshadows are pigmented, creamy and super blendable. They lasted all day over a primer and looked just as good after 8 hours of wear as when I applied them in the morning. The blush and highlighter had the same texture and were very buildable so you can easily control the intensity of color. The lipstick felt a bit dry while applying but once it was on it didn't make my lips feel dry at all; it actually felt fairly moisturizing and stayed on for a good 6 hours. The gloss is the only thing I haven't wear tested but I tried it on and it had the perfect consistency; not too much slip (I hate that) and not super sticky.

If you haven't tried Fusion of Color yet I highly recommend that you do. You can find them here. They have an amazing array of colors and are very reasonably priced. I look forward to trying more products in the future.

Born Pretty Nail Vinyls

*Provided for review*

I recently received a few things to try from Born Pretty Store. I was given a choice of a few products and since I haven't had a chance to try nail vinyls yet I chose these.

Look at the holographic rainbow! I didn't even notice that until I took the picture but once I did I couldn't stop looking at the rainbow goodness.

So, I had OPI My Pal Joey on my nails and decided to add on to that. I used Sephora by OPI Meet Me At The Disco holographic topcoat to use. I had heard that these were pretty sticky and that there was a chance that it might lift my polish. To prevent that, I used them the day after I painted my nails so they had sufficient time to dry. Then before I used stencil I stuck it on my hand first to take away some of the tackiness. I stuck the stencil on my nails (making sure that it was pressed down well on the sides so the polish wouldn't leak under the design and become a blob). I swiped on a coat of Meet Me At The Disco, peeled of the stencils, and voila! Nails that look like they were much more complicated than they really were.

I definitely want to try more patterns and techniques. Born Pretty Store has a ton of different patterns and they are so affordable! You can find this pattern here for only $1.37. And if you use code AILX31 you can save 10%! I will definitely be buying more patterns. Have you tried nail vinyls?

*Won in a giveaway*
We're almost there! For my next to last day of the challenge I have a really fun polish for you: Strawberry by The Hungry Asian. I won a giveaway a few years ago and the prize was 4 full-size polishes. As soon as I saw Strawberry I knew I had to have it. It's a bright red with tiny black glitters that look like strawberry seeds.

Isn't it adorable? I really love it! What do you think?

14 Days Of Valentines - Day 12 - Zoya Sooki

*Purchased by me*

Here we are on day 12 and I finally have a red polish for you. It's not that I don't like red polish, and I think it looks ok on my, but it's not a color I gravitate towards for some reason. But when Zoya released Sooki (named after the character in one of my all-time favorite TV series True Blood) I knew I had to have it. I don't know if I've even worn this as a full mani ever but I've used it a lot in nail art (well the little bit of that I do).

It's a great tomato red with great coverage.

What do you think of red polish? Let me know! And check out the links below.

This one is an awesome full-coverage glitter that covers fully in only 2 coats. I'm actually wearing it right now and I could not stop staring at my nails all day at work. It is so sparkly in the light.

Only a few more days to go!

14 Days Of Valentines - Day 9 - OPI Super Cute In Pink

*Purchased by me*

Hello and welcome to day 9 of the 14 Days of Valentines challenge. Today I have a color from the new Hello Kitty collection from OPI: Super Cute In Pink.

I have to admit that I was super excited when I heard about this collection. I still kinda love Hello Kitty. And this color is so pretty. It is a purple-leaning pink. And even though it is a jelly formula, it only took 2 coats to cover completely. I can see reaching for this polish often.

Have you picked up any polishes from this collection? What do you think of this color?

As usual, don't forget to check out the links below!

14 Days Of Valentines - Day 8 - OPI 50 Is The New Fabulous

*Purchased by me*

Here we are on day 8 of the 14 days of valentines challenge. Today I have OPI 50 Is The New Fabulous. This was a limited edition Sally Beauty Supply exclusive. I didn't know that when I bought it; I just saw a really pretty bright pink polish that was on clearance that I had to have.

I love this polish. It's such a bright, cheerful color. It's perfect for wearing during the gloomy winter months. What do you think of this color? Were you able to pick it up when it was available? Talk to me!

And don't forget to check out the manis in the links below.

14 Days Of Valentines - Day 7 - Milani Digital

*Purchased by me*

Welcome to day 7! Today I have a really pretty polish for you. It is Milani Digital from their 3-D holographic collection from years ago. I'm pretty sure that I bought this whole collection when it was on clearance at CVS and I'm really glad I got them.

Milani Digital is a soft pink, scattered holo polish. I took the second picture with flash to show a little bit of the rainbow goodness. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of sun to be had here these days so I couldn't get a sunshine shot. But if you ever come across this polish I would definitely recommend it.

Don't forget to check out the links below!

14 Days Of Valentines - Day 6 - OPI Chic From Ears To Tail

*Purchased by me*

Here we go on day 6 of the challenge! Today I chose OPI Chic From Ears To Tail from the 2013 Couture De Minnie collection. I love Minnie Mouse and anything Disneyland related so I was happy when this collection came out.

In doing this challenge I have realized just how many pink polishes I have and how few reds I have (there WILL be a few during the challenge, but not many). I guess it makes sense because I've always been a fan of pink but red not so much. I love how all of the polishes so far have been kind of similar but so different in finish and texture. As they say, similar but not the same.

As always, check out the links below.

14 Days Of Valentines - Day 4 - OPI Pussy Galore

*Purchased by me*

Hi! Here we are on day 4 and I'm still going strong. Today I have OPI Pussy Galore from the 2013 Bond Girls collection. Now, I know that a lot of people are totally over textured polishes but I still love them as much as when they first came out. I especially love this one because it has some glitter and shimmer in the mix.

How do you feel about textured polishes? Love 'em? Hate 'em? Let me know below!

14 Days Of Valentines - Day 3 - Revlon Innocent

*Purchased by me*

Here we are on day 3 and I have a polish from Revlon to show you today. It is called Innocent and it is from the 2011 Edgy Innocence collection. It is a pretty pale pink with silver shimmer and I really like it.

This polish has been sitting in a drawer for a few years and even though I tried to mix it it still has a funky line of gold metallic in the middle (even though the shimmer in the polish is silver...go figure).

Three down, eleven more to go! And as usual, check out the links below to see some other Valentine's Day manis. And if you have a Valentine's Day mani to show me, leave it below!

Degree Motion Sense Dry Spray Anti-Perspirant

*Product was sent to me for my consideration*

A few weeks ago I received the Unilever Dry Spray VoxBox from Influenster. In it I received the Degree Motion Sense Dry Spray anti-perspirant in the Fresh Energy scent.

Now, this may just be a little bit TMI but I am a very sweaty girl; but not all of the time. At times when I am at my sweatiest nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will stop it so I don't even blame this product for not working then. But at normal times this stuff really works! It kept me dry and smelling good all day. (I can't really attest to the 48 hour claim because I took a shower and washed it off within that time period). I really like the formula; it is a very light mist that dries within a few seconds and doesn't leave any residue on my clothes. And it smells really good. The Fresh Energy scent is light and kinda sweet (I don't really know how to describe it except good).

I would definitely recommend this product. It is available at WalMart for between $5 - $8.

14 Days Of Valentines - Day 2 - Wet 'n Wild Sparked

*Purchased by me*

Well, I've made it to day 2 of the 14 Days of Valentines challenge. For this mani I added a glitter topper to yesterday's polish from Wet 'n Wild called Sparked.

I'm not sure if this one is still available or not. This is 2 coats over my base polish so it's a pretty full coverage glitter.

Check out the links for the other lovely participants down below and I'll see you tomorrow!

14 Days Of Valentines - Day 1 - Nubar Pink Lily

*Purchased by me*

Hi friends! So, I'm going to try something new and see how far I can get with it. I'm in a group on FB called Hobby Polish Bloggers made up of (obviously) nail polish bloggers. Last week Krystal from the Polish Galore blog posted asking what everyone thought about the idea of doing 14 days of pink and red polishes leading up to Valentine's Day. When some of us said we liked the idea she created a group so we can link all of our posts up together each day. Some ladies will just be doing pink and red polishes (like me) while some will be doing nail art.

So without further ado... here is my first polish: Nubar Pink Lily (from the Spring Garden collection from 2011).

Forgive the random polish marks on the bottle. It was in an unfortunate accident years ago. I dropped a box of polishes and Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie broke. Super sad face since this is now a very hard to find polish.

So there you have it! Day 1! We'll see how this goes; I've never posted so many days in a row before or followed through on a challenge like this.

And while you're at it...check out the posts from all of the other lovely ladies by clicking on the links below.

Salon Perfect Holiday Polishes

*Products won in a giveaway*

Hi all! It's been a while (per usual) but I'm back with some awesome sparkly polishes to show you today.

Before the holidays I was lucky enough to win a set of the Salon Perfect limited edition holiday polishes on the Pointless Cafe blog giveaway. From what I understand these polishes weren't available at all in stores and when I saw the swatches on the blog I was hoping that I would win because they were so gorgeous. Jump forward a few weeks and I received an e-mail that I had won! I was pretty stoked. The collection consists of 4 glitter polishes, a white polish and a topcoat was included also. I took pics of these as I wore them and didn't do a swatchfest with them so I don't have the white polish here. There is also a red that I plan on including in some Valentine's Day posts.

 Plum Crazy
 Electric Avenue
Emerald City

The formula on these was perfect. I used 2 thin coats for each color and it built up beautifully. There was a slight grittiness to them but it wasn't anything that 2 coats of topcoat couldn't take care of.

I'm sorry that I'm showing you something that you can't buy but they are too pretty not to share.

I hope you are all doing well. It's pretty soggy up here in the Pacific Northwest but after living for years in arid California I'm really liking it.
